Payments API & Infrastructure Migration

Working across several areas of business, Trility rebuilt a retail payment system that streamlined functions and processes for in-store, web, and mobile apps. The solution improved compliance with Payment Card Industry standards. Knowledge transfer and repeatable code patterns also ensured the client could evolve the solution in the future.

Problem Statement

This growing retail company needed to accelerate delivery for an evolving customer loyalty program and in engineering a new payment system to support all payments across this national company both online and in stores.

The web and mobile applications needed to scale features and functionality to allow customers to easily scan and use gift cards through their loyalty accounts.

Due to restructuring challenges, the Trility team’s software engineering expertise was leveraged to focus on rebuilding and migrating a payment API and infrastructure solution.

Solution Approach

Trility team members worked across several areas of the company to deliver on both of these projects. In both of these scopes of work, product roadmaps and solutions were already determined.

Trility ensured its work aligned with the vision to create repeatable toolkits for all teams to leverage and create code the team could continue to refine and build upon. Knowledge transfer was ensured through paired programming, code reviews, and documentation.

Outcomes

The client achieved accelerated delivery and the following outcomes:

  • Created a first-class gift card management experience for the web and mobile store application that allowed customers to easily add gift cards to their loyalty account.

  • Moved the need for rebuilding a payment API and infrastructure migration project to streamline the payment processes and reduce exposure for payment card industry (PCI) compliance.
